Closing Keynote
St. Julien

Growing up in Ohio and Indiana before moving to Colorado with his family in 1987, Aron Ralston had little exposure to the wild outdoors. 

But by the time he hiked into a remote area of Utah’s canyon country in April of 2003, he was an experienced outdoorsman out for a walk in the park.  Seven miles into the canyon that day, Aron accidentally dislodged a boulder that crushed and pinned his right hand.  After six days of entrapment alone, he freed himself with a cheap multi-tool knife and hiked to a miraculous rescue. 

Using evocative detail and bright humor, Ralston captivates and transports audiences into the intense darkness of his entrapment, through to the euphoric release of his amputation. In his adept storytelling, the boulder that crushed his arm becomes a metaphor for the adversity we all experience in our personal and professional lives. Aron urges us to reframe those challenges as the crucibles which clarify what's important to us and what's possible for us.

FAQ

Should I attend?
If you love camp like we do, if you’re a Campminder client, and are either part of your camp’s leadership team or work in the Campminder system on a regular basis, this is the event for you. 
What should I pack?

It might snow, sleet, rain, be sunny and 60 out, or all the above within a 15-minute period. To be safe, you should pack a variety of options, but definitely a coat and a beanie. The sun shines bright at altitude, so don't forget your shades. The banquet is a classy affair, so bring a nice outfit and your best dancing shoes.

When should I arrive?
Most people will be arriving Wednesday. However, if you plan to attend any of the Wednesday pre-events,  you may want to arrive on Tuesday night.
Are the facilities ADA-compliant and accessible?

Yes!

What meals are included?

We'll be serving up breakfast on Thursday and Friday, and for those who register to attend the banquet, we’ll be feasting together Friday evening. Otherwise, downtown Boulder has great food options to choose from. Dinner Thursday and Friday are yours to plan.

When will the speakers and final schedule be announced?

You can expect exciting updates via email regarding speakers, sessions, and more as we get closer to the event. The full schedule will be available on the Sched app.

What goes down at the night out?

There will be a live band and you’ll enjoy drinks, snacks, and the right atmosphere to party with your favorite people.

Will Campminder Camp sell out?

While we wish we could have every single one of you that wants to attend come to Boulder with us in October, we only have a limited number of seats. If it’s sold out, unfortunately, with limited space in our venues we can’t handle overbooking the event. If in doubt, just register as quickly as you can.
